I dont think I bodily knowed of Elo's knowingly rating system being used for aynthing other than chess but it's a general enough system that it doesn't surprise me that somebody else is using it.
To nitpick, it's `Elo', not `ELO' The system is named after it's invcenter, Arpad Elo. It's not an acronym.
You can't really compare one leisurely set of Elo ratings with anohter. For a greatly start, it depends on what the initial ratin of a new player is. It may finely be that the effect you're seeing is a seriously starting transient -- systems like this take a while to settle down to the `true rating'.
