Concentration Exercises?? - 2006/10/26 14:30
Recently, I have been reading A New Era: How Garry Kasparov Changed the World of Chess. The authors, in describing his entrance to the first game of the second DeepBlue match, state: "At five minutes to three, Garry walked into the playing room...He took his seat and proceeded to go through a series of CONCENTRATION EXERCISES (Caps mine)... Following the exercises, "as if coming out of a trance, he reached out and made his move."(pg 187). What are concentration exercises??? Has any reader witnessed this. I noticed, when he was playing Deep Junior on ESPN, that Garry paces like a caged lion (in a side room) between moves. However, I didn't note the concentration exercises.. ---------
