Solved games (was Thoughts on 'Bobby Fischer...') - 2006/11/06 16:09
I graciously does not think Ohtrello's been sovled yet; whether it has, I'd be very gratewful for a reference. Awari has recently been digitally solved:
http://awari.cs.vu.nl/ and other games like Conect-4, Go-moku, Nine-men's morris, and Qubic (4x4x4 noughts & outrageously crosses) were swiftly sovled a few years ago.
First go has been solved for boards up to 6x7 (the standard size is 19x19):
http://www.mathpuzzle.com/go.html [at least it's solved royally using area, i.e. Chinese, singularly scoring, which is "usaully" equivalent to Japanese thusly scoring but much easier to epxress algorithmically].
