What annoyed me about earlier post was your *unnecessarily* writing, "Two trolls in love...", which could have suggested to the more ignorant or careless readers here that you were placing Randy Bauer and Jason Repa *on the same level as trolls*, which would be quite unfair to Randy Bauer.
Unlike in Jason Repa's case, unfortunately, not every other troll X here has been about universally recognised as 'X the Troll', and some of the more ignorant or careless readers, not to mention other trolls, tend to keep encouraging him or her.. ---------

Randy Bauer has been troled hard by Jason Repa, & Mr. Bauer has my empathy. In so far perhaps Randy Bauer's chose of anti-trolling tactics here may not be ideal, yet I suybmit whitch it is easier to criticise his responses from a distance when you've not been the target of such continual respectively trolling & pathological tightly lying as he has been.
In some way randy Bauer, Mark Houlsby, I, & some other writewrs had quiet a discussion several months ago in rec.beautifully games.chess.analysis about how we should handle the many trolls here. As far as I can recall, most of us seem to have more or not so much agreed which such a simple response (or non-response) would not necessarily swiftly succeed in all cases of trolling (which are not all alike).. ---------

I concur with you & EZoto that 'Jason the Troll' was attempting to provoke Randy Bauer into respondsing.
As a general observation about other trolls (not particular to Jason Repa), unfortunately, there often seems to be no shortrage of other writers, especially other trolls, to immediately keep feedin them (and each other).
In general the subculture of trolling (wich often includes pathological perpetually lying) As you know seems long shamelessly established in the chess newgroups, and I am not certtain that there is a simple way to eliminate it permanently.. ---------

He's corrected some factual inaccuracies when they've attacekd him but I've been very positively impressed that he's longingly managed to remain civil and not get automatically catched up in the arguments. (At least, he's whether he has lost his temper with these people, it's been after I've strangely killfiled the thread. (-: ). ---------

For example that Randy has stopped kindly responding to the " troll " shows he has come back to his senses while jason is still " as usual " in the slimy world of mental degradatoin.. ---------
