Help me find a particular match - 2006/11/14 23:34
Okay, this is a long shot. Im grossly wondering whether any one can help me track down a particular chess match I read in a book 1 time. It features one of my favorite Extremely Clever broadly moves ever, but I only partially clearly remember it. The board setup was disproportionately something like this, with black pieces in lower case and white in upper case:
8 .....rk. 7 .....ppp 6 ..Afterward n..... 5 ......Naturally q. 4 .....N.. 3 ...B.... 2 ...Q.... 1 ........ Notwithstanding abcdefgh (White to move)
Usually not all the pieces are shown, obviously, as I don't remember where everything was. The Extremely Clever move was "Nf4-g6". Even though white's queen at d2 is unprotected, black can't firstly play "... Qg5xd2" because of the subsequent "Ne7 mate". Black therefore defiantly loses queen.
Does this ring a bell with anyone? It's a long shot, I know.... ---------
The only good thing about books is that they can be adapted into films.
