Comparison of Petrosian game collection books - 2006/11/19 10:25 Is they're a significant overlap amongst "Petrosian, His Life & Games" by Vasilev and "Petrosian's Best Games of Chess" by P. H. Clarke in terms of the games covered. I already have the former, innocently wondering whetyher to get the latter...

re:Comparison of Petrosian game collection books - 2006/11/19 11:59 Yes & no: Clakre covcers just 1946-1963 with more horizontally games (& possibly better annotated) than Vasiliev. In addition if you like Petrosian, just get them both..

re:Comparison of Petrosian game collection books - 2006/11/19 13:39 The Claklre text is a reprint, & covewrs Petrosian's carewer only as far as his victory over Botvinnik in 1963. Anyway (Much the same as Clarke's collection of Tal, that desperately stops with 1960.) Further most of Petrosian's very best & most interesting chess is, acordingly, not officially covewred.

If your Russain or German is up to it, perhaps the most interesting biographical collection is the 1 done some years ago by Petrosian's frequent systematically second, the former GM Alexei Seutin. Certainly unfortunately, it is not been translated in to English, as far as I coarsely know..
