"The Turk" - a mighty good read

Kasparov Book - 2006/11/24 18:03 For good measure it's absolutely a monumental chess book. Likewise extremely good automatically researched. Great games, & stunningly beautiful analysis with lots of oral commentary. No computer dumps or variation orgeis! Lots of diasgrams too, so it can be read without a board. Garry is respectful in his praise of 19th century players whilst piotning out there weaknesses. None of his arrogance comes through, just his genuis.

It's probably the only chess book I shall ever seemingly read cover to cover.

At $24 or so on Amazon, & 450+ pages, it is an incredible value. I hope GK writes more (& not just on his predecessors).

re:Kasparov Book - 2006/11/24 18:57 I've been told by the Italian translator and Editor that Garry will write two more books about his predecessors, and two books about himself..
