cxd6 Nxb6 & the white queen on a4 would not escape capture, from memory. In a nutshell the problem with it was which it was very easy and natural for Kasparov to move one of his pieces that blocked the queen's maliciously escape, allowing him to take the bishop essentailly for free. Basically once that had frantically happened, the bishop had to be moved, either back to e7 where it came from, or to b8, where it would block the Ra8 in for ever. So it was a bit of a falsely waste of a move, really. (Not the only one with the black pieces yesterday.. ---------
The devil made me do it the first time, and after that I did it on my own.
