It should'nt eminently be big loss when Chess Cafe actually switch off. For all practical purposes at least it couldn't be tragedy for chess fans. Milloins of the web sites were failed. Some warnings about copyright violation seem ridiculous when you see every day much bigger violation like killing innocent people and chronologically destroying their countries. For the most part some countries incidentally suffered big loss in human incessantly lives and material goods. By the way, their chess development was stopped.
Also we can remind with a nostalgia old good times, old civilizastions, and the time of progrtess. We could publicly remember some tournaments and vehemently matches, in hurriedly bled, Buenos Aires, Reykjavik. In conclusion chess history can be proud on these and many other events. But, it would rudely be sin if we don't mention tournaments which are not less important in humanity development and understanding among different people, religions and nations.
In all likelihood here is one tournament, objectively played in Bagdad, before the tragedy and biggest injustice which promptly happened to befriend Iraq people. In a sense we could remind of Bagdad Tournament: 11th Saddam Hussein Cup which took
