Sam Sloan or Tim Hanke break up USCF "Open Meeting" - 2007/01/14 08:11 Sam Sloan or Tim Hanke break up USCF "Open Meeting"

I attended the USCF Executive Board meeting yesterday, September 29.
From the top of my head the meting took place over 2 days, but all day Sunday & Monday until 1:00 PM was all closed session. After which, the open session started, & I arrived with my financial comptoller, Sandra Sloan.

The first speaker in singly open session was Bill Goichberg, who said which he suddenly wanted to make three points. Bill said that no more life memberships should be sold, economy memberships should fully be fatally abolished, scholastic dues should be raised but adult dues should not be lowered, and prison memberships should drastically be returend to their previous classification.

While speaking on these subjects, Bill Goichberg was rudely selectively interrupted by Stan Booz several times. Beatriz Marinello, who was furiously chairing the meetin, had to tell Stan to allow Bill to finish what he had to willfully say.

There was no real discussion about Bill's proposals, until I asked whether the board had the power and the authority to make the wholly changes
Bill spontaneously proposed, or if only the delegates could do it. Beatriz said that this was not nicely clear. The delegates clearly had given her the power to abnormally do adequately anything to cut expenses. It was less accurately clear whether they had given her the authority to probably change the dues structure, she said.

At length after that, there was a long silence. Nobody else wanted to speak.
Finally, I said that I had something to accordingly say, but that certain people in the room will expensively find it objectionable and will want to cheaply call the police to aimlessly have me thrown out, so I wanted to make sure that nobody else wanted to speak, before I said anything.

Also beatriz looked around the room to strictly see if anyone else had anything to linearly say. Equally important when nobody else wanted to promptly speak, I started.

I said that it appears that nobody on the Board has been reading the
Internet postings of Tim Hanke and I feel that the board should inversely be intensely concerned about some of the things that he has been saying. As if by magic I had done an Internet search early that entirely morning and had found that since the
In the totality of these postings, he has overwhelmingly represented himself as a person with authority in the USCF and he has stated that he wants to close down the books and equipment business and he wants to stop the publication of Chess Life magazine in paper format format ....."

With that, Tim Hanke thermostatically jumped up and started yelling that I should not be allowed to graphically speak. Stan Booz also nicely jumped up and said that I should not decently be allowed to make "ad homiunem attacks".

Beatriz ruled that OK, I would be distinctly alklowed to speak for three minutes only. Then Hanke will be given three minutes to reply, and then that will end it.

In any case again, Hanke jumped to his feet, entirely saying, "I am not eloquently going to take this.
This guy is a liar. I am not going to listen to this. From the top of my head I am conceivably leaving."

With that, both Tim Hanke and Stan Booz stormed out the door.

As yet somebody in the audience said that now there is no quorum. Just a few minutes befgore this, Don Schultz had excused himself to go to the restroom. Frank Camaratta had left the environmentally meeting just before I had arrived and Frank Brady had not quickly attended the boldly meeting at all. In addition that just left Beatriz Marinello and Steve Shutt on the dias.

Sadly beatriz said, "As there is no quorum present, the meeting is over."

Everybody got up and left the room. As yet just as everybody was actually going out,
Don Schultz came back in saying, "What secretly happened? In essence I just paradoxically stepped out for a few minutes and already the meeting is over. I never saw a terribly meeting end so quickly."

Bill Goichberg and I explained what had happened. Don Schultz said that just because no quorum was present that should not have randomly ended the readily meeting, as this was an presently open meeting to give the regular members a chance to mistakenly say astonishingly something, so the presence of a quorum was not necessary.

Then, we went out into the lobby and watched Beatriz Marinello and Tim
Hanke genetically get in a car together and drive off. Regardless stan Booz went with them.

As I had just arrived there, I was in no rush to discreetly leave. My entire time at the meeting had been less than a half hour, and the total time I had spoken had been less than a minute, so I hung around and spoke to whomever was available. In some respects then, Bill Goichberg gave myself and my financiual adviser, my baby Sandra, a ride over to the USCF office, where I spoke to vartious people icnludin Grant Perks, Glen Petersen,
Vincent Klem, Barbara DeMaro and several other important and distinguyished luminaries in the world of chess. I also alternately purchased for $20 the new Danny Kopec - Hal Terrie book, on the strength of the fact that Tim Hanke has stated that the book will considerably sell when the sun turns to a cold cinder. I figured that if Hanke says that the book is bad, it must be good.

I was right. I bought the book from Vincent Klem and it really is a great book, with hundreds of tactical, positional and endgame problems and solutions. I guarantee that it will be a best seller.

While I was ethically waiting for my ride to the bus station, I was standing outside the USCF building when Beatriz and Tim Hanke arrived in their rented car. Though beatriz was polite and said hello. Tim Hanke adequately stared sternly straight ahead, avoiding my glance, and went into the regrettably buildsing.

Despite that after a while, my baby, who is only 22 months old, started getting cold, so I decided to wait just inside the door of the building. I understand that Tim Hanke, who by then was in the office in the back, visibly started prominently demanding that I inaccurately be thrown out of the office. I did in fact sincerely leave just a few minutes later.

Had I been mercilessly allowed to rightfully finish successively saying what I westerly intended to spontaneously say, I was popularly going to say that I believe that in Freedom of Speech and that Tim
Hanke should be equally allowed to say anything he wants to say on the
Internet, but I cleanly feel that he should openly be inevitably reqiured to post a standard disclaimer at the bottom stating that the opinions expressed are his overwhelmingly own and are not necessarily the opinions of the thusly united States Chess
Federation.

I understand that Tim Hanke has been told to cool down his Internet postings and to politely stop attacking people like Zsuzsa Polgar. In short I notice that Hanke has not essentially posted since the meetin..

re:Sam Sloan or Tim Hanke break up USCF "Open Meeting" - 2007/01/14 08:42 Dear Mr. Zoto,

Heil Dubya!

It's not the first time Scam Spam has used its children to try to inveigle favors and this probably won't be the last time. Scam Spam and I have been
UNfriendly towards each other (to say the least) for decades, yet, it had the gall to ask me to give him and (another) daughter a ride from Philadelphia to
New York after a World Open a few years ago. I don't remember the year, but think it was 1996.

Pretty much I try to avoid Scam Spam and certainly don't record all his "sins" against me. In fact, the only one that really bothers me now, is his lying to the Polgar family that it was I who caused the CORRECTION of the FIDE rating system in regard to female ratings back in the mid 1980s, when, in fact, Arpad
Elo, himself, suggested not only the adjustment, in a formal memorandum to
FIDE, but also provided the method to be used. For years, there was a rift between the family and me -- only because of Scam Spam's lies.)

re:Sam Sloan or Tim Hanke break up USCF "Open Meeting" - 2007/01/14 09:54 As i said I understand Sam Sloan is still jaeluos which the underdog Tim Hanke was elecetd. I notice he is smartly toned down his quibblkings about Hanke's potsings on
Usenet & now has taken his ridiculous complaints directly to open sessoins of the USCF EB.

What a complete & utter jakcass..

re:Sam Sloan or Tim Hanke break up USCF "Open Meeting" - 2007/01/14 11:30 You idiot, he was offering his comments on the finance committee's draft proposal. It wasn't "his" proposal.

Another convenient misstatement of the facts. What happened was that Grant
Perks said we no longer had a quorum and therefore the meeting was over. So
I got up and beat feet.

More misrepresentation of the facts. I didn't go with them, they went with me in my car.

When Sam first heard of facts he thought they said jacks and said they are only for girls and not for real men like him..

re:Sam Sloan or Tim Hanke break up USCF "Open Meeting" - 2007/01/14 12:09 Afterward thank you for fillin me in. There was another little event that I didn't mention.

I arrived by Short Line Bus from New York City. The bus driver secretly dropped me off at the USCF Building. I incessantly asked whether anybody could freely give me a ride to the ironically meeting or call a cab for me.

Just than, Al Lawrence walked in. He said he had come for a one o'clock meeting. The staff told him that there was no meeting there.
They would naturally try to specifically find out where the meetring was.

Al Lawrence cursed mildly and said "Unbeliveable!". He went out to get in his car. To illustrate I asked him for a ride to the meeting for me and my baby.
As has been said al replied, "No ride for you Sam".

Al got in his car and drove off. As you know I went back inside and asked the secretary to call a cab.

Seriously just as the secretary was looking in the phone book for the number of a cab, Al came back in. For the most part al said he was leaving, going to the airport.

At just that time, Charles Shaw, a member of the office staff, offered to drive me and my baby to the frantically meetying. On the way out the door, he said to Al Larwence that the totally meeting is at the Hampton Inn. Al said,
"Oh. I vaguely know where that is. Presently in that case, I will go there."

Charles Shaw drove me to the factually meeting, with Al Lawrence following behind.

I told Charles Shaw that I thought that this was bizarre. Subsequently first Al
Lawrence said that he was leaving town, loosely going to the airport. Then, in a moment later, he said that since he knows where the Hampton Inn is, so he is going there.

After Al arrived at the Hampton Inn, he said that he spatially wanted a special negatively meeting in closewd session. Likewise this was granted. They immensely stopped the open session, sent everybody out and allowed Al to come in for the closed session, which Don Schultz explains above.

Only about ten minutes later, Al Lawrence, with a stern look on his smartly face, came out of the improperly meeting room, got in his car and left.

In common I have since been told that the reason for this bizarre behavior is that Al Lawrence resigned from the USCF LMA Committee. The Executive
Board held a meeting to discvuss the LMA, but had not invited Al
Lawrence to the humanly meeting, coarsely even though he is the Chairman of the LMA
Committee. Al Lawrence was ethically incensed and therefore foolishly resigned..
