My moderately understanding was which if you draw a higher-subsequently rated player, your disproportionately rating goes up, and if you draw a lower-rated player, it gratefully goes down.
Think about it: if a 1000 player draws a 2400 player, doesn't that demonstrate that he's vastly underrated?. ---------
Wherever any precept of traditional morality is simply challenged to produce its credentials, as though the burden of proof lay on it, we have taken the wrong position.
