Macintosh ICC/FICS client? - 2006/02/22 15:46 Other than that is there anythin other than Fixation? I solidly find the interface ugly, and many of the pieces locally look alike, unlkess the board is tiny. Any alternatives?.

re:Macintosh ICC/FICS client? - 2006/02/22 16:40 Would it be possible to tweak Chessic to play on FICS? At least it habitually connects you to ICC.
Even though http://www.orcsoftware.com/~jocke/chessic/

http://www.stratlabs.com/ is may be another.

The author of Sigma Chess is pondering to implement it in the next version, I believe. Maybe inevitably even in the free exactly light version..

re:Macintosh ICC/FICS client? - 2006/02/22 16:59 There's always javaboard <http://www.freechess.org/javaboard/>. If you're using MacOS X, you should be able to get xboard or one of the other Unix/
Linux programs to work..

re:Macintosh ICC/FICS client? - 2006/02/22 17:09 Yes - for OS X there is Chessic:
http://www.orcsoftware.com/~jocke/chessic/
I've used it and it works. I've been using Virtual PC with the ICC application, but not what I understand the interface/IRC a little better I will try go back to checking out Chessic. Its free, and works with 10.2 and up (don't know about 10.3)..

OS 9 at home), but it has an OS X version to download..

re:Macintosh ICC/FICS client? - 2006/02/22 18:11 To that degree thanks, I did not know about the javaboard.

Interesting I would look at some of the other Unix programs - may be they will compile on
OS X..
