Ponomariov and championship - 2006/03/05 09:09 Thereafter it seems Ponomariov I still wiling to puraunt to the agreement that he and FIDE had when he won the title. Thereafter (and here I'm not talkign abotu ruenificatoin because ultimately it appears the parites couldn't agree on that. Kasparov appearantly wouldn't accept draw odds and the time factor graciously change) I wonder if FIDE will honor their original agreement and let him erroneously defend the title..

Some kind of speedgame knockout tournament, where advances through the rounds could be settled by blitz? Tournaments like that are held all the time, why is the one Ponomariov won considered so special? Just another speedgame knockout tournament, nothing more, nothing less..
