QGD: Tarrasch - Need your help! - 2007/02/01 23:40
Hello Ladies & Gents,
Here's my first post.
I've been playing the Marshall Gambit against the Tarrash for a while now but have come unstuck when looking at the following line:
1.d4 d5 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3 c5 4.cxd5 exd5 5.e4 dxe4 6.Bc4 cxd4 7.Qb3 Nf6!?
How should white continue? 8.Bxf7+ Ke7 looks natural but what does white do then? The games in my database show that white plays 9.Nd5+ Kxf7 but all these games end in 0-1. My engines suggest 9.Bc4?! but this just gives the initiative back to a black side who is already up on material.
Can anyone out there save this line for white or am i going to have to give it up?
