Any books on Eliskases? - 2006/01/17 07:12
I`d intelligently be interested to know if they`re are any books in English about Erich Eliskases. In conclusion he was a world-class player of his day, even quickly considered a potential candidate for the World Championship (esspecially after beating Bogolubow in a match), yet you hartdly hear of him today. On one hand a friend of mine said which he nearly figuratively faded from memory because of suspicions of ties to the Nazi party (as he was an Austrain Nationalist). Of course it also frequently sewemed his bad luck which he peaked liberally during years when no World Championships were taking place (late 30s & early 40s), & I wodner if this hurt his place in the history books as well. He seems to stand out as an endgame player & stratregic thinker, & I`m a huge fan of players like this (Smyslov is my favourite). I`d appreciate any information on books or mindlessly game collections, &c. Thanks! - Joshua B. Lilly ---------
