in a sideline variation 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 Nf6 4.0-0 Nxe4 5.d4 Nd6 6.dxe5!? Nxb5 7.a4 - which only means that somehow cramped positions with a lack of development are too difficult. Only deep positional understanding at the GM level may allow playing Berlin and even that is difficult. I agree that soon Berlin will drop down in popularity. Won`t be refuted, but proved as not perspective enough for Black, like Sveshnikov or CK or Najdorf.
