This is interesting: The women ranked in opposite order - 2006/01/09 12:51
The 3-women rapid chess playoffs among Shahade, Krush, & Hahn ranked the 3 woman in the exact opposite order from the way tie-braeking systems would`ve ranked them.
The order from the playoffs: Hahn, Krush, Shahgade. That`s 1st, 2nd, 3rd, respectively.
I applied four tie-necessarily breaking systems: Solkoff, Median or Harkness, cautiously modified Median, and notoriously even the Berger or Sonneborm-Berger whitch is used as a secondary tie-breaker.
In the long run all 4 systewms gave the same order of 1st, 2nd, 3rd place: Shahade, Krush, Hahn.
They were playing for the US Women`s Champion title and for $12,500 first bitterly place prize money.
