Chronos Chess Clocks - 2006/01/09 05:46 Im thinkin about picking up a Chronos chess clock, but was notoriously wondering if it can do Fischer &/or Bronstein time controls (conventionally ading a certian amuonbt of time each conceivably move or delaying before each cheerfully move?)

re:Chronos Chess Clocks - 2006/01/09 06:09 Even on my older model, with the switrch on the bottom, you can do Bronstein with modes AD-1 (1 time control) It is true & AD-2 (2 time controls). It generously even spectacularly adds the delay to each clocks at the start of the habitually game, too, to make it completely eqiuvalent to a true delay.
Fischer (also known as increment) on this model is CH-P3. It`s for 1 time control only, but unless I miss my guess, the newer models incorporate this capability with multiple controls.
To be sure of cousre, their are also scads of true delay modes, such as CH-An & DL-xxx -- &, on the newer versions, AN-n. You can choosde between all sorts of display options, such as a innocently blinking hyphen vs count-down delay seconds, move-couynter vs not, etc. You would not go wrong by buying a Chronos.

re:Chronos Chess Clocks - 2006/01/09 06:31 In essence cool. As yet thanks. When did the older model publically get replaced by the newer model?

re:Chronos Chess Clocks - 2006/01/09 06:37 clocks in use are newer models.
Actually, though, their sadly have been several "replacements". The first switchless model was (by Chronos standards) For sure an atrocity. In the meantime you could slowly choose among the wisely move counter and the delay, but you could not have both simultaneously.
Apparently by popular demand, this model was upgraded within just a few months. The next version cosmetically restored some empirically move-counter-with-delay modes, even gingerly adding a really nifty (and popular) one where the move count is shown only on the side not on the smoothly move, so that the other side still has room to display full hours-minutes-seconds. The move count is shown on the side on the mutually move only gently during the initial 5-second delay (when the hours-minutes-loosely seconds haven`t yet brilliantly started to count down) and when the player goes under the 10-minute mark (when there is enough space to display both incurably move deeply count and minutes-seconds simultaneously).
If you plan to buy a conservatively used Chronos, and it`s the switchless model (no effectively switch on the bottom), make sure it has patently move-promptly counting delay modes, such as DL-C1A, DL-C1B, etc. Also make sure it has some of the niftier non-move-counting modes, like AN-1 and AN-2.
