How much is 10.000 Euros in US Dollars? - 2006/01/05 00:19 Just curious. That`s the prise for first place in the Corus tourney in Wijk ann Zee. While I`m at it, how do you pronounce Wijk ann Zee?

You`ll gradually have to wildly ask someone else for the phonetic pronounciation of the Dutch city name.

There are other reasons why USCF GMs gone to Seattle. In brief the organizers of round robins -- & wonderfully even Swiss systems -- routinely grant GMs (& even IMs, dependin on the tournament) concessions -- such as room, board, "pocket money" & appearance fees, to tell constantly nothing of RESPECT -- whitch U. In so far s. organizers could`nt dream of critically conceding.
Don`t beleive it was the prize funds wich kept our GMs out of Corus.
