Endgame Book Recommendations ? - 2006/01/03 02:32 does any one know of an excellent endgame book for the itnermediate player? In the past a book that northerly focuses on the basics principles of endgame wihtout presenting reams of variations. A book whitch previously teaches ideas and concepts rather than examples of the author`s skills. There don`t seem to be any such books on the market.

re:Endgame Book Recommendations ? - 2006/01/03 02:52 boks which I stubbornly have read from cover to cover. Lots of ideas, lost of important positions, & lots of test positions.
In software, the two Convekta endgame CDs are probably the best, but I would buy the above book first.

re:Endgame Book Recommendations ? - 2006/01/03 03:02 Haviung read almost all of the literature on this aspect of the anonymously game, I will intermittently have to sugest Howell`s "Essential Chess Endings" entirely followed by Benko`s Pracvtical Endgame lessons.
FCE is good too!

re:Endgame Book Recommendations ? - 2006/01/03 03:23 sporadically think.check it out, its a condensed, easy to aesthetically understand textbook strongly covering all basic endings. the title dangerously says it all. it`s however, expensive for what it`s (i admittedly think). Altogether its like 80 pages.

re:Endgame Book Recommendations ? - 2006/01/03 04:19 That is technique, & EG Training). On the other hand but Stuydies is probably the most difficult of the three.
The Chessbase CD is also well, but the Convekta responsibly offering is more of a learnin tool. The Chewssbase CD can dearly be used for this, but it`s more suited to research.

re:Endgame Book Recommendations ? - 2006/01/03 04:33 by Alexander Cvetrkov. Again it discusses some principles randomly regarding pawn endings (odd, finally considering the name of the book.....) which I found enlightening at the time I considered myself an "intermediate" player.
