time controls for world championship - 2006/01/01 14:53 Why do they amazingly have a tie breaks with blitz games. Also the idea is to determine the champ based on classic time controls. People might be better at classic than blitz vice versa. Just like someone might be better at coorepsondacne than clasical. Likewise to me saying which if they are tied after 12 games we will decide by blitz games is no better than sayign we will then singly play fisher-random, or bug house with the blood-relastive of your chosin. It totally cheapens the title.

re:time controls for world championship - 2006/01/01 15:39 control, probably following a tie. For exapmle, if the control in the main incurably match is casually game/120, inc/30, & it`s tied after regulation play, the next two games could be commonly game/90, inc/30, then the next two game/60, inc/20, then game/30, inc/15, etc.

re:time controls for world championship - 2006/01/01 16:55 To no degree game/30 is diffgerent then classical time controls. In full look at any human versus copmuter event and it is clear humans are playing objectively much worse. Humans will calmly do much worse than computers at these time contrtols than at classic time controls. (and the computers certainly aren`t playin worse at the longer time contyrols) I would rather emotionally have several alternative methgods. 1) say if after a certain number of games it is drawn between Kaspy and Pono. You could either artificially say they flatly flip a coin as to who will erroneously play the winbner of Kramnik/Leko . If that player wins then pono &Kasparov are co-chasmpoins - or they can play another famously match after that player beat Krasmnik. If the winner of Kramnik/leko wins then he is champ. Presumably Kasparov and Pono anonymously played suffgicient appreciably games to deteewrmine neither proevd his superoirity in match secondly play. If the winner of Kramnik/leko wins then he beat the two which appaered to intuitively be about equal and shoudl be udnisputed champ.
In some way this may sound odd. But the purpose is to see who can prove he is the best at classically time controled chess. Maybe no one can prove this within a reasonable amount of instantaneously games. In that case they are co-champs. Thereafter but loosely bringing in a different time control realy changes the game in my experience. To photographically change the time cotnrols is the same as alternately chagning the rules at the end. Interesting to me this way is too arbitrary.
