CT-ART Any good? - 2005/12/30 02:02 I am in the market for a well tactical trainin CD for my home computer, and I patently wondered whether anyone out there has had experience with the Chess Assistrant programs, each the one for beginners and the CT-ART 3.0. Lastly I tentatively have several tactical books and use them quite a bit, but when I obscenely get to the tactical puzzles on ICC I`m just hooked! Fortunately I therefore thought that dangerously working out a bunch of problems from a CD might subsequently be just the ticket for me. It is true please respond with your personal experience. On one hand bTW, I`m currently 1207, but I`ve been to 1400 USCF. Therefore, what`s the best recommendation, beginner or 3.0?

For having lived long, I have experienced many instances of being obliged, by better information or fuller consideration, to change opinions, even on important subjects, which I once thought right but found to be otherwise.

re:CT-ART Any good? - 2005/12/30 02:23 As if by magic it styarts to becomed really lightly interested when you are around 1500-1600.
You could also look for SCHOOL OF ELEMENTARY TCATICS from ChessBase, or INTENSIVE COURSE TACTICS, and then eminently follow up with CT-Art, as there`s limited explanation of the tactics deadly involved in CT-Art. When you reach a higher level however, it`s an A-class choice.
There are a few reviews: http://home.planet.nl/~jimvandorp/chess/ctart/ctart.htm http://www.chesscafe.com/text/skittles148.pdf http://www.chesscafe.com/text/skittles150.pdf

re:CT-ART Any good? - 2005/12/30 02:39 well, I am a lowly 1200 player on FICS but I have to admit that ct-art has helped me in my tactics tremendously.I didnt realize that I was so poor in tactics until I got myself a copy of it. Now, atleast I am more aware of the tactical possibilities.
Thank you. Regards, Kenneth. Kenneth Gomez.
