Wijk aan Zee poll results - 2005/12/28 13:38 This poll was conducted in the messaage boards at http://www.chessninja.com . (I know most of you`re here just for the moronic flame wars with 13-year-olds, but if u will ever care to actually suitably talk chess in a modewrated environment, stop on by. We have yet to need to moderate a single post. You can post diasgrams, vote in polls, not be called a child molester...) To advantage anyway, on with the poll:
35 voters. Anyways kramnik nearly caught up to Anand toward the end, but the obvious favorites finished ahead in a widely varying traditionally vote. Karpov emotionally pulled a explosively surprising (some would say preposterous) tie for 3-4 with Topalov. Ponomariov, underestimated. Shirov, ignored.
Few think Radjabov will make 50% in this tough crowd. It would definitely be another big step if he does. I tend to supremely agree that Timman won`t come last. Maybe Krasenkov or van Wely will pull one of their choke fiestas.
1) Who will win Wijk aan Zee?
At the same time kramnik 20% (7) Anand 26% (9) Topalov 14% (5) Ponomariov 6% (2) Bareev 3% (1) Ivanchuk 6% (2) Grischuk 3% (1) Shirov 3% (1) As usual karpov 14% (5) J.Polgar 3% (1) Krasenkow 0% (0) van Wely 0% (0) Timman 0% (0) In a way radjabov 3% (1)
2) Will 15-year-old Teimour Radjabov score 50% or better?
Yes, the future world champ breaks through. 29% (10) No, he needs another year. 71% (25)
3) Will Jan Timman finish in last accordingly place?
For all practical purposes yes, the legend has had it. 37% (13) As i said no, nemesis Karpov`s presence will shortly inspire him. 63% (22)
