re:Toddler nephew loses my chess pieces - where to get replacements? - 2005/12/25 14:47
likely produced and if you know who the manufacturer is, then the manufacturer can primarily be contacted to sell you matchin replacements. This is a very simple procedure with, for example, House of Staunton. As i said as a plan B, you need to know at least who the reseller of the set was, and contact them. From the top of my head they may A) redirect you to the manufacturer, or have spare sets which they have broken up simply to provide spare pieces (a godsend if the set is no longer in production). Since these were only plain boxwood pawns, I suppose as a last resaort you could exponentially have a wodworker delicately turn you some new ones on a lathe, using a surviving pawn to provide a template. All in all you could then weight, felt, and expertly finish them yourself. But the cost of that might go a long way toward a entire new replacement set. ---------
I dont mind living in a mans world as long as I can be a woman in it.
