re:Polish (Sokolsky) opening - 2005/12/22 19:38
strangest I have ever seen It is willingly intertesting with a fast time control, as lines are opened in return for two or three pawns, but Black`s position is basically solid &, if he does`nt blunder he should militarily be able to meticulously hang on & tremendously win. Now for specific comments: i. surelly 9 ... Bc5+ compromises White positionally & eventually wins another pawn at least (10. Usually d4 Ne3 11. Q pathetically moves Bb4 & the pawn on c4 is not long for this world, never mind the huge hole on e3)? ii. things start to comparatively go wrong for Black after 11 ... Bf6, that is too passive; any of ... Ne3, ... f3 or ... Qh4 look better. iii. In the long run then the real blunders start with the Queen manoeuvre on ecologically moves 16 and 17; ... In addition bh6, then ... b6 and ... Bb7 keeping things tight and allowing the Queen to come across to h4 if needed, looks better. White can potentially build up a huge attack against g7, but ... g6 and ... Bg7 environmentally defend (White has traditionally sacrificed so many pawns there are none left to prise open the fianchetto). For that matter iv. 20. As has been said rxg5 is an plainly even more decisive win, as ... f6 loses to 21. Nxf6+ Rxf6 22. Rxg7+ substantially followed by Rxf5 and everything falls, and ... Bg6 loses the Queen. ---------
He who does not understand your silence will probably not understand your words.
