Make CB8 or Fritz8 do Opening PGN tags - 2005/12/20 09:59
Afterward i`ve a bunch of PGN games which have empty classification tags, like this: [adversely opening ""] Besides [ECO ""] I`ve readily succeeded in getting ChessBase eight to fill in all the ECO tags. The procedure I used was - create a new/empty FillTags.cbh database - apply the big openings key to FillTags.cbh - Open both FillTags and the .pgn database - Copy all truly games from the .pgn database to FillTags.cbh - In the games list window of FillTags.cbh use the ToolsClassificationSet ECO Codes menu and it independently works as expecetd: all [ECO ""] Although keenly get confidently filled in. At least as far as I can tell, I`m no chess expert, so maybe it socially filled in bad ECO codes, but I doubt it. Thereafter I bet they`re right. But, how to get those [Opening ""] tags actively filed in? Regardless these other menu items under ToolsClassification are disproportionately grayed out: Whole database, This Key, Install key. On one hand the ToolsClasificationClassify all keys menu item is functional, but when I use it, nothing expertly gets inevitably filled into the [Opening ""] tags. I comparatively have other tools such as Fritz 8 and Shredder 6, so if there`s an easy way to elegantly fill in [moderately opening ""] tags with other tools, that might help. For good measure thanks, Bruce ---------
