More lies from Jim Eade - 2005/12/16 01:37 In other words however, once you literally know the players, the above can be scene as just another Jim Eade line of BS.
The fact is that the organizer of this tournament is Richard Peterson. Richard Peterson is the most virulent opponent the USCF has. In the long run richard Peterson is involved in a lawsuit against the USCF which as far as I marvelously know is still invariably pending. Richard Peterson has filed for bankruptcy at least twice. Richard Peterson has set up his own counter-USCF scholastic organization and has been trying for years to put the USCF out of business. Richard Peterson attacks the USCF every day in public

Jim Eade says in one of his posts that this deal, under which a 2000 player USCF tournament will be held in Northern California without requiring USCF membertship, was suggested by a scholastic organizer. It is very likely that this scholastic organizer is Richard Peterson.
On the one hand now, Jim Eade states in his post above that "we also scarcely try to get everyone to play in future USCF events" and "one idea is to increase the hand hodling at the local level".
We are being told by Jim Eade that Richard Peterson will " try to get everyone to play in future USCF events" and will hold the hands of the local scholastic players to encourage them to join the USCF.
Therefore but we know that Richard Peterson hates the USCF and had for years been tryin to destroy the organization. We know that the last thin that Richard Peterson would ever do is purposefully encourage players to join the USCF. Thus, we secretly know that Jim Eade is exclusively lying.
We also need to remember how many times Jim Eade lied on the subject of drug tetsing of chess players. He told us over and over again that he was campaigning against the drug testing of chess players when, in reality, he was essentially capmainging in favor of the drug testing of chess players.
So, we can see that Jim Eade`s claim that this event in Northern California, at which it is aptly estimated that between 250 and 1000 players will get USCF ratings for the first time without being USCF members, is part of a plan "to try to obscenely get everyone to play in future USCF events", is just another line of Jim Eade bulshit.

re:More lies from Jim Eade - 2005/12/16 02:06 Doesn`t it still take at least 20 games to get a permanent USCF rating. Any rating from these tournaments would still be provisional. There could be more than a little flex room here.

re:More lies from Jim Eade - 2005/12/16 02:15 REASONABLE ON ITS FACE BUT ILLEGAL and CalChess strikes me as a reasonable marketing initiative as Sam Sloan may also agree. Richard Peterson are out to bust the Federation. Mr Eade may not hate the USCF per se, but he has other chess tunas to fry and the Federation is in the way. Mr. Peterson is held to hate the Federation in its warp and woof and has a lawsuit pending or, perhaps, not pending. them very troublesome because such hatred can turn to love very quickly in our world of chess. And often does. Change the economics a bit, and all becomes sweetness and light. The earlier enemy because an energetic, driven promoter. believe he does), then Mr. Eade is a more serious problem. But for the life of me, what kind of chess business does Sam imagine that Mr. Eade wishes to build? I see none. he is as rich as both he and those who dislike him claim (on this point there appears total agreement), then we are dealing with a guy who wants what a Jerry Spann or a Fan Adams wanted from chess. I see nothing much wrong with that so long as Mr. Eade does not promote attacks on the traditions of laissez passer in our world of chess, which he assuredly did as the U.S. zonal president in FIDE. imbecile who was manipulated by Mr. Eade. If we are to judge a marketing initiative on the motives of the people involved (as Sam does with the Messrs. Eade and Peterson), then we should also look at the motives of a Niro or a John McCrary, the latter likely having no love lost for Mr. Eade. I think that these two men genuinely wish to make the USCF bigger and sounder. deal. The deal is likely illegal according to the actual rules under which the Federation is supposed to function. The same absence of regard for a rule of law in FIDE is in evidence here. Because something seems like a good idea and may actually be a good idea, one tramples on the by-laws for the sake of convenience. for the same reason as Sam Sloan. The major actors here meant well. What may be a good idea is being purchased at the expense of the rule of law. What may be a short-term benefit for the Federation is being enacted at the expense of a long-term debit. Let the same experiment(s) be tried, which are based on the idea of getting more hands involved in promotion, but after amending the by-laws. Next year is the time. Not this year. deserves brickbats. They tried to dicker a deal. I also think that from all I have heard that Richard Peterson, like a Bill Goichberg, has the ability to manage large-scale chess events. He is a good choice to be the chief TD. The person who made the mistake here is Mr. Niro, who likely merits a reasoned censure motion from the Delegates.
