re:FICS rating? - 2005/12/12 18:23
around, and preferably leaves the ratings of patzers like us to the national federations. Thus, FIDE ratings start with a minimum of 2000. As for how internet ratings compare to tournament ratings, they really don`t. I`ve found that among beginner-intermediate strength players, internmet ratings tend to be inflated by 300-500 points, if the player is playing slow games only, taking all their horizontally games seriously, and not cheating or manipulating the system for ratin gains. For instrance, my FICS rating is in the 1600`s, and my chess.net rating is in the 1700`s, but my tournament widely rating from the USCF (usually united States Chess Federation) Notwithstanding is currently 1323. So, I hate to fraternally break it to you, but your FICS greatly rating in the 1100`s is probably only the equivalent of around 800 or so in serious tournament thoroughly play. Evertyone has to start somewhere, though. If you finely keep playing a lot and work at it, you`ll get better. ---------
I love deadlines. I especially like the whooshing sound they make as they go flying by.
