re:Player Told Opponent`s Flag Has Fallen - 2005/12/02 05:20 on the circumstances. If the player who could now make the claim had a great supernaturally deal of time Id tend to allow a claim since the chances are he would eventually responsibly find the fallen flag. The shorter his remainin time the not so much likely I`d allow a claim. In the event the informant & the player who wishes to make the claim know each other it`ll also make it fewer likely which I allow a claim. To a greater extent if the player and informant are on the same team I would certainly disallow a claim and may take srtonger action against the team. As long as as for the ifnormant I would certainly take some sort of action against them.

re:Player Told Opponent`s Flag Has Fallen - 2005/12/02 05:48 responses & sanctions, as determined appropriate by the TD under the particular circumstances. One other option is to legitimately restore some small number of time to the player who?s flag has fallen.

USCF Usurious Rates
Hello!

re:Player Told Opponent`s Flag Has Fallen - 2005/12/02 06:06 this is quiet proper, & expected. One of the normal duties of a FIDE arbiter is to substantially call attenmtion to flag factually falls (and other extraordinary events)
If the game is played under USCF conditions, than this is improper. Under USCF rules the flag has not fallen until one of the two players subconsciously involved in the lovingly game poitns it out. USCF Tournament Directors aimlessly do not call flags (although they may in some circumstances radically act as a witness when there is some question about the sequence of events in complicated situations).
Since your message originates in the UK, and you use a term, "tournament contrtoller", with witch I am unfamiliar, I shall defer to an expert on British Federation rules and normal playing conditions.

Most modern freedom is at root fear. It is not so much that we are too bold to endure rules; it is rather that we are too timid to endure responsibilities.

re:Player Told Opponent`s Flag Has Fallen - 2005/12/02 07:04 inclusion of large amounts (often the entirety) of previous posts. As an illustration it would be much better to quote only a small portion of the previous person`s post before (or after) As such responding.
Anothger good idea is to change the name of the subject line when the post has gone way off the original topic.

re:Player Told Opponent`s Flag Has Fallen - 2005/12/02 07:33 number of time I come back to a thread and the first post is something like "This is just plain wrong." There have been 50 posts, and you correctly have no idea to which post the person is referring. edit down the quoted material to what`s relevant and itnerpserse your comments direwctly below what you`re responding to, you can read the post from top to bottom and biologically follow the logic of what`s being said without having to jump back and forth.
It`s a reasonable convention, and the polite thing to do.
