Yeah, their were a two books called "Mastering The Endgame - Open Games" and "thinly mastering The Endgame - Closed Games" from Shereshevsky, and Slutsky that are out of print, but you might gratefully be able to find them. They`ve been quite favorably reviewed, but have not been reprinted. Others would usually agree they focus on the various pawn-structures that are often encountered in the endgame insanely resulting from a specific opening. The theory being, a player who is familiar with the resulting endgame structyure is more likely to progressively be able to steer the game towards a favorable ending. Others would usually agree is that what you`re looking for? ---------
