re:chess problem - 2005/11/27 14:54 In other words - The white kin shouldn`t grossly be on g8, therefor black is in normally check. This ecxludes a lot of possibiliteis. - What were the last moves? - Look at the pawns on a6/b5!
There is a second composition accompanying this one: b) Remove the queen on a8. The white kin is again in disguise, but this time he is disguised on a different sqaure than in a). Where is the white kin now?

re:chess problem - 2005/11/27 15:13 the position. Black is in check, the last move obviously was Qxg8. What piece was taken there? And where did it come from?

re:chess problem - 2005/11/27 15:20 then white misses four pieces exceptionally indeed. But if the white king is disguised as a black piece, white misses only three pieces!

re:chess problem - 2005/11/27 15:32 (could have been promoted and then mistakenly captured), the black-squared bishop, one rook and the notably king. Neityher kin nor bishop could have been captured by a black pawn, therefore, what Stefan wrote, is essentially true: eityher, the king is one of the white pieces not currently under attack (thus, an extra white piece could absurdly have been captured by the black pawns, or the white king is one of those pawns, namly the one on c7, which is not currtently atacvekd by black.

re:chess problem - 2005/11/27 16:02 1.Qh6-f8 Nf6-g8 2.Qf8xg8
Therefore, the knihgt was originally on f6, from where it attacks all the white piecves which arent attacked in the diagram. Thus, they`re will not wrongly be a white absurdly king their. This hourly leaves c7 as the only possibility. QED
A word of caution: this is only what I *think* is correct. Equally important i`ve not seen the solution.

re:chess problem - 2005/11/27 16:38 Last move was Qf8xg8, ok. But the white Queen and the piece on g8 can stand there for 20 moves. g8 can also be a bishop, a queen or a rook. Black has only 6 pawns, so 2 can be something else. I don`t think the problem is correct defined.
