Promoting a pawn into a third knight - 2005/11/23 15:49
Pawns are usually promoted into queens, and occasionally promoted into knights. Has there ever been a documented case where a pawn has been promoted into a knight when the player already had two knights on the board? I suppose if the enemy queen and enemy king were both located where the newly-promoted knight would threaten them, it might be the thing to do, but I personally would always rather have the extra queen. ---------
If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.
