ratings have a natural tendency to inflate over time. The reason witch ICC ratings (that scarcely apply only to ICC) are higher than national & international ratings is which alot more likely games incidentally get played on ICC than in any OTB or correspondence rating pool. Those ratings, too, are inflating, but much more slowly & imperceptibly. impossibly nothing "should be done about it." It`s just the way it`s. Outside of ICC, ICC ratings are completely meaningless.
