Suggestions please for a program for my endgame training - 2005/11/10 10:48
Part of my attempt to break a bunch of old habits is to just learn lots of endings for a month or two (followed by tactics stuff, then finally openings issues--- worth a whole other post about how to maybe break a decades-old history of ineffective chess on my part): What I want to do is make an electronic notebook of my endgame studies, placing the initial position, moves, and comments in something like ChessBase. This way I can review the material quickly down the road as well as have something really useful for some other players in the future. You know, starting with the basic endgame stuff and working on up. I have CB7, but unless I`m missing the feature it is not quite what I want. I`d like to be able to be looking at the screen and not be able to see the next move displayed on that screen-- or at least be able to see the text comments easily while averting my gaze from next move in the sequence. I`m not going to buy more software. If needed I`ll make do with what I have. Is there a demoshareware product that will suit me better for this than CB7? ---------
Speech is conveniently located midway between thought and action, where it often substitutes for both.
