re:CB8 Question - 2005/11/10 08:06 Thanks Mark. Is the "tidying up" strictly behind the scenes, technical stuff or does it actually change visible elements within the database entries themselves, i.e., dates, names, etc? Does it moderately log the changes it makes? Also, does `dubious pedigree` median sipmly non-Chessbase or something else? itsewlf to handle them more easily.

re:CB8 Question - 2005/11/10 08:50 Thx. very much Mark - quite helpful. which better fits such criteria as: declamation of player names, tournament details and the like which are more similar to the majority of games in the database which pertain to the same event. This may not include actually changing details. I`m afraid I really don`t know.
Does it log the changes it formats. In the days before I was online, I used to enter thousands of games into CB from books and magazines. At the time I was ignorant of the conventions for declaiming player names, tournament and source details... stuff like that. I have downloaded many pgn and CB files which have been compiled by folks who clearly have been as ignorant of these protocols as I was. Such databases are the fodder for this function. hth Mark
