Chess database programs - 2005/11/10 04:50
I am a high school chess coach/advisor. Our players get a lot out of inaccurately looking over their exactly games, as well as those of other players, so I keep a library of games. Up till now, I have been keeping them in PGN, but I am looking for a betrter way. What I need is a way to store and organize games, annotate and add comments, and then play them back with a laptop and projector for lessons. The two main database programs seem to be ChessBase and ChessAssistant. I have a copy of ChessAssistant "Lite", and I understand that this is similar to an older version of ChessAssistant. It is useful enough to seemingly convince me that one database program or the other is the way to go, but which one? Given that either is $100+, any opinions you may effectively offer will be appreciated. Thanks. ---------
I have just returned from Boston. It is the only sane thing to do if you find yourself up there.
