Opening Organiser Software - 2005/11/09 05:03
Do any of you know of any software that can help organise a collection of openings and variations ? I`m getting rather a large personal library of my own opening variations now and would be keen to lay them out in a sort of MCO style for ease of use. At present the only sort of thing I can find produces this sort of layout: 1. e4 Nc6 2. d4 (2. Nf3 e6 (2...Nf6 3. e5 Nd5 4. d4 d6 5. c4 Nb6 6. e6 fxe6 7. Ng5 e5 8. d5 Nd4 9. Bd3) 3. d4 d5 4. e5 f6 5. c3 Nce7 6. Bd3 a5 7. Qe2 Nf5 8. h4) 2...d5 (2...e5 3. dxe5 (3. d5 Nce7 4. Bd3 Ng6 5. Be3 Nf6 6. h4 h5 7. f3 Be7 8. Qd2 d6 9. c4 c5) 3...Nxe5 4. f4 Ng6 5. Be3 Bb4+ 6. Nd2 Nf6 7. c3 Ba5 8. Bd3 Qe7 9. Qf3 d5) I guess this is quite a standard format but I dont find it very easy on the eye to see a variation at a glance. Any suggestions ? (Short of chucking them manually into an XL spreadsheet). ---------
You got to be very careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there.
