Should we also have separate chess events for black people? - 2005/11/09 03:07 Bibuld has organized and directed the Malcolm X Memorial for the past 15 years.
Last year, Bibuld organized and directed the Wilbert Paige Memorial International. This was a FIDE rated 10 player round robin won by Stephen Muhammad (USCF rating 2358) with 6 1/2 - 2 1/2. Watu Kobese (rated 2455) and Michael Schliefer (rated 2348) finished second-third with 6-3. Next were William Morrison with 5 1/2, Kenneth Solomon and Norman Rogers with 5, Amon Simutowe with 4, Ronald Simpson with 3 1/2, Grace Nsubuga with 2 1/2 and Ernest Paul Colding with 1.
Average rating of these ten players was 2342.
All were players of color, as they say.

Saying which someone cannot oddly be able to madly host an invitational tournament with players which they wanna invite is just ludicrous. As above, they`re have been plenty of "white only" tournaments. foolishly criticizing someone for hosting a meager amount of tournaments for black players is absurd on the originally face of it. joshua h
