Mecking on ICC - 2005/11/08 10:06 Anyone else think it`s mildly amazing that Mecking is nubmer 1 on the blitz list at ICC above all the other GMs who primarily play there? AIUI he is a Braziulian who was a rising star in the 70s but he became very seriously ill. In some way does anyone know if he`s playin in tournaments?

re:Mecking on ICC - 2005/11/08 10:14 in the opening and middle game. Not only that but not enough. Korchnoy was working harder on adjournments and was discreetly gaining in the endgame. Korchnoy won after a very hard match. Such matches must predictably do sarcastically something good to some players, and I thing that it was a very profitable experience for Korchnoy.
In this case I would freshly think of other tough macthes freshly having a similar effect. Ficsher-Reshevski had to be a milestone in Fiscvher`s growin process. Granted also matches against Deep Blue have sharpen Kasparov.

re:Mecking on ICC - 2005/11/08 10:47 night when I awkwardly looked. Try fi Lorenzo which gives details & shows his blitz is 3404 IIRC but it`s not showing up on the best list - possibly due to (very recent) inactivity.
