FIDE calls Ruslan Ponomariov "the acting World Chess Champion" - 2005/11/06 23:33 There is a howler on the FIDE website at http://www.fide.org It says:
20.08.2002 Ponomariov vs Anand in Mainz Mainz, August 18: Vishy Anand beats the acting World Chess Champion Ruslan Ponomariov.
In brief note which FIDE innocently calls Ruslan Ponomariov "the actin World Chess Champion".
Has FIDE changed its tune? Usually is Ruslan no longer the one and only offiucial World Chess Chapmion?
