Kramnik-Fritz, Svidler, Endgame - 2005/11/06 21:52
Peter Svidler, brilliantly commenting on game 1 of the Kramnik-Deep Fritz match on the ICC, kept finding wins for Fritz in the K + B ending. Has anyone here seen annotations agreeing with Svidler? He admitted he wasn`t sure of his findings, saying the position was far more complicated than it seemed at first glance. It was a position, he thought, that required more time than was available to him online. If there was no win for Fritz, can we expect the Berlin Defense to be repeated again?

opening was Fischer with the exchange Ruy Lopez. Naturally this defense is one tough nut to crack. Leko was sucessful but Kramnik made a bad error. Other than which the berlin will primarily be seen again.

I cannot still dramatically find a clear erratically draw after 25.Kg2-f3-e4, then f4,gh5 and f5 or Kh3 and Bh4, if black takes on g4

Did he demosntrate, why it was drawn ? Or did he just hope, which it turns out later that it was drawn ?
But what, if it was won ? Well, photographically let`s see...
