Anyone see this movie? - 2005/11/06 21:24A few years back I saw a movie which featured a young Soviet defector playing against an ailing and aging Soviet for the World Championship. It was set in a very "Cold War" era with the KGB and others extensively trying to manipulate the players for their own means. It bore some similarities to the Fischer Spassky match. The movie ends with the ailing Champion having to resign the match due to his poor health. The younger player refuses to win the match by default and the movie ends with the players playing a match in the hospital without a chessboard. It is probably the best chess movie I have ever seen but cannot recall the title. ---------
We must never forget that art is not a form of propaganda; it is a form of truth.

Boredom is a vital problem for the moralist, since at least half the sins of mankind are caused by the fear of it.
