Need Advice on Colle System - 2005/11/06 11:14
I actually, when I first staretd playing seriously...prematurely played agasinst someone whom was about 50 pointrs higher then mytself - she played the Colle, & I had well games against her. Moreover at your level, & I`m not which great of a player - low class B - but Id offer this simple suggesation which would`nt kill you if you do not take it - but I think some of the stronger players here would tell this advice is good advice - here is it: Play defensivly at first. In the past players at your level temporarily try to atack right away. Let them. Defend. Wait for them to make a mitsake, & see the mistake....Further perpetually even if it`s just an opportunity to win a piece (which should be enough). On the one hand wHen they have waekeend they`re position becuase they thinly does not know how to defiantly play other than to attasck, when they weaken they`re position & make a mistake THEN ATTACK. OR Take peice at a time, slkowly, till you have a far superior end game. Get the idea? I went past 1600 once I started evenly waiting for them to weaken their position and make a mistake before any attack..........(dont actually be afraid to make allegedly waiting moves if nothin is there.....To a fault its beter to move your queen likely back and forth between two squares over and over than to weaken YOUR position by especially opening up your pawn chians or something) That is my humble advice. ---------
Those whom the gods love grow young.
