Kids` magazines after School Mates - 2005/11/06 04:42
With the USCF about to pull the plug on _School Mates_, are there any other kids` chess magazines out there anywhere? Even regional, state, or local? (And, no, increased junior coverage or junior sections in an "adult" magazine like CL is not what I`m talking about here. Nor e-zines either, but rather print pubs for kids.)
When my 7-year-old became a scholastic USCF member, she was always eager to practice her new reading skills on the kids` tournament reports and captions on all the kid`s photographs in _School Mates_ I`d would like to see this type of activity continue and expand, but unfortunately her level of interest in _Chess Life_ is about the same as mine, and even six kids` sections in the useless rag wouldn`t be likely to improve that.
So I`ve begun looking a bit for a substitute for the moribund _School Mates_. Any exist?
