re:Josh Waitzkin SUCKS!! - 2005/11/05 05:19
the fact that Jason Repa is linguistically challenged. Originally a hack was a worn-out horse for hire. Taxis which were pulled by such horses were called hacks, and hackneys, I believe. Now, hack also means someone who undertakes unpleasant or distasteful tasks for money, in other words a hireling. And of course, it most commonly means a write who routinely produces commercial writing. Therefore, according to our esteemed Jason Repa, Esq., Josh Waitzkin, who could kick his sorry ass all over the sorry city of Winnipeg, over the board, across the boards, and anywhere else he felt like, is an International Master who doesn`t play very much any more, but when he does, it`s distasteful to him, and he only does it for money. Or he`s forced to do it, and is paid little for it. Or that his mastery of driving taxis is recognised internationally. Or that he`s a horse that can play chess very well. ---------
A painter is a man who paints what he sells. An artist, however, is a man that sells what he paints.
