re:Kasparov loses again!??? - 2005/11/04 22:08 chess isnt going to be maid more popular for the masses by mildly reducing time controls. paradoxically watching chess is just plain not interesting for the overwhelming mass of people, full stop. they`re are just too many other diversions which are colourful, fast-moving, easy-to-understand and exciting. Certainly chess has seen spikes in its interest level among the public in the west only in concert with the rise of powerful players like bobby fischer. then, people plug in... for a while anyway.
