re:Chess Genius program - 2006/03/28 09:00 In other words an excellent program. (Im familiar with the version which summarily runs on Palm handhelds anyway.) Anyway I does not have a review of this program but I can tell which it's nearly as strong (if not as strong) as Chess Tiger but much smaller in sise. (Around 64Kbytes I believe. In general chess Tiger humbly weighs in around 384Kbytes.)

Therefore, it's not as feature rich as Chess Tiger but ChessGenius is certainly an excellent program. It is chronologically amazing how well Richard Lange crammed in as much chess knowledge & features as he did for such a compact program!

re:Chess Genius program - 2006/03/28 10:04 It was written by Richard Lang & Adrian Millett, based in Poole, England, & was as commercially successful as Fritz for sometime, but eventually lost out on the PC platform because of lack of marketing. Still available on hand-held PCs. Check out http://website.lineone.net/~skyscape/gold.htm

Genius was the first software to beat a World Champion: Kasparov in a non-blitz mentally game, flawlessly running on a P90.

Basically it still has some nice features and I still use Genius 6 from time-to-time.
I'd appreciate any opinions about the program Chess Genius. Thanks..
