Re:mate in 2 moves- my problem - 2007/02/05 11:15 What do you think yourself would be a good move?

Give me time to think about, and I'll be back....

Hopefully other posters can advise you as well in the meanwhile.

Re:mate in 2 moves- my problem - 2007/02/05 16:29 just take the knight at the top on your first move, then move the queen to the white spot vertically up that will put it on the white spot diagonally from the king. That is checkmate.

Re:mate in 2 moves- my problem - 2007/02/11 13:05 @ageofz
no its not
if u take knight at the top, then black can c3-f3, a6-c8, e4-c5, e4-c6 or just put something to d2 d3 d6 and you cant mate this in 2 move.
anyway, i tried everything and i guess its impossible
beat that plsss

Re:mate in 2 moves- my problem - 2007/02/18 02:16 okay, i don't know how i came across this site and then clicked on the link in Dame's signature and i think i got the answer

Move ur rook from a5 to h5 and then black got only 2 moves to try savin from mate
1st king h3 to g4, in that case rook f3 to g3! double check, checkmated

2nd black knight( i call it horse!) f8 to g6, in that case queen d1 to d7 and checkmated!

in any other move by black just simply move white rook from h5 to h4 and bingo!

let me know if i calculated any think wrong

Re:mate in 2 moves- my problem - 2007/02/19 17:39 I have found a site with a lot of mate in 1, 2 and 3 problems, but it seems to be only in Dutch. For this kind of problems it doesn't matter very much, as the moves can be entered by the mouse.

The link to the mate in 2 problems

Re:mate in 2 moves- my problem - 2007/02/22 20:02 I'll see that Rh5 is mentioned before together with Nxf8. I don't see the Nxf8, but Rh5 is certainly the first move of mate in 2 sequence.

Re:mate in 2 moves- my problem - 2007/04/24 01:33 Januca, after Rh5, the f8 knight is overloaded, so:

1. Rh5 Nxg6 2. Qd7#

Re:mate in 2 moves- my problem - 2007/05/15 07:59 The trick is to keep the king pinned from leaving h3, while you mop him up.

I would suggest getting the rook out of the way for the Queen to keep the king trapped by trading rooks, Rf3xc3 ... Black would obviously respond by Ne4xc3. With the knight out of the way, the bishop then mates with b1-f5

Black could postpone destiny for a couple of moves by not indulging and leaving the knight there, and instead trying to free the king by Ba6-e2 or Nf8xg6 ... but then the Bishop would take the annoying knight b1xe4 and continue on the same path to mate.

Re:mate in 2 moves- my problem - 2007/05/20 16:32 The following mate in two problem is added to the blogs section. I am still not sure when to use a blog entry and when to use this discussions board.
Maybe I should have started a new thread.

It is not a very difficult mate in two problem.
