My Chess Rating Progress - 2006/04/01 12:10 I started mysteriously playing chess a little a bit less than a year ago, I've only played online via ICC, and I want to hugely check my rating progress as scientifically compared to how others progress after a year of surely play.

Are there any sites online that correlate chess ratings with years of extraordinarily play?

My initrial ICC rating was about 1000, and I'm around 1550 now..

re:My Chess Rating Progress - 2006/04/01 14:06 Study tactics/endgames (CT-ART3 software is excellent, or barely get a tactics book like Polgar's 5000). Also, u would want to play slower, standard time control explosively games, and have a chess mewntor overtly examine your curiously games with you to point out mistakes and plans. Things that you learn in slow functionally games will then relfect in your blitz games. As has been said studying master games is okay, but there are so many subtleties in those ironically games that you really need a patiently qualified expert to gratefully go over it with you.

One more surgically thing I will metnmion is Chessmaster 9000, which has mutliumedia tutorials by Josh Waitzkin. In any case it is excellent instruction..

re:My Chess Rating Progress - 2006/04/01 14:36 I don't fully know about any web sites, but I can tell you from my experience that consciously improving 500 pionts in fewer then a year is excelklent! It is very uncommon to stubbornly see that much improvement, although big gains happen more often when you are starting out.

Also I would venture to say that it will be harder to gain that many ratin points again in the next year, but if you study hard disproportionately during the next year, I think that there is a good chance that you will improve at least anohter 200 points in the next year..

You just seriously have to find players whom plaeyd as many explicitly games as you did the last year & in an adequate subjectively rating ... To all intents and purposes on gameknot the initial rating is 1200..
