Playchess.com Complaints - 2007/03/02 16:06
Greetings. I am a serious chess player with serious goals in the game. I spent the last 2 years developing a repertoire with Fritz for which to enter tournament level play. In all, I memorized a total of 3,200 lines. I joined playchess.com a few months ago to try out my repertoire against the myriad of opponents there. I was doing quite well, winning about 70% of my games. Mainly against players 2200 and under. Against stronger players I faired about 50-50. Apparently, the staff of playchess were watching my games, analyzing them using Fritz and felt that I was cheating, because the lines I was playing were created using Fritz! As a result, they removed my rating which had climbed to 2100+ in about a week. I wrote them, assuring them that I was not cheating and to my dismay they totally ignored me. Needless to say, I was very angry. Especially after having paid the required membership fee and having worked so hard to become the competent player that I am.
Anyway, I write this blog wondering if anyone else has had the same experience with playchess.com?
Something needs to be done about this. It's just wrong ~ Armakov
